Project Overview 

Java House is a cozy and vibrant coffee house located in Washington DC, offering freshly brewed coffee, smoothies, and a selection of fast foods. The client approached us with a vision to reflect their farm-to-cup freshness and authentic brewing culture through a vintage and heartfelt brand identity.

The Challenge

To create a warm, rustic, and memorable logo that narrates the story of fresh coffee beans being hand-picked and roasted right before brewing – capturing authenticity, freshness, and craftsmanship in every sip.

The client specifically requested an illustrative logo that ties together:

  • A coffee tree with ripe red beans.
  • Beans dropping into a steaming coffee cup.
  • A vintage style with earthy tones and warm hues to evoke nostalgia and warmth.

 

Design Solution

We designed a logo with a hand-drawn style:

  • A stylized coffee plant branch pouring fresh beans into a cup of steaming coffee.
  • The cup symbolizes the final product – pure, fresh, and brewed with care.
  • The color palette features rich reds, browns, and soft greens, emphasizing natural freshness and organic vibes.
  • The typeface used is bold, with classic cuts, enhancing the vintage appeal.

Result

The logo successfully:

  • Tells a story at first glance – from farm to cup.
  • Built a visually unique identity for Java House in a competitive local café market.
  • Reinforced the brand's promise of quality and freshness.
